BioShock

Up until last week, I have to admit that I was pretty ‘meh’ about Bioshock. Yes, its a sort of addition to the System Shock franchise. Big woop. Fancy AI and implants and things. Who cares?

Then this happened:

The one that matters most is Eurogamer. A notoriously hard marker, they only gave Gears of War (probably the best 3rd person FPS ever made) 8/10. After I read their review, I went and pre-ordered Bioshock that afternoon.

2 Worlds

A pretender to the throne occupied by Oblivion? Or revolutionary online (and free!) MMORPG? I’ve got bad feeling about this one and with all the other great stuff coming along at the moment, its definately a wait and see title. Dig that dude’s robes though.

Stuntman Ignition
The demo was fun but it oozes ‘rental’.

Stranglehold

The demo for John Woo’s Stranglehold was genius. I clocked it four times in a row without even thinking. As long as the finished product mixes up the environments and weapons a bit (and if the multiplayer isnt total ass) it should get my coin next month.

skate

Dilemma. skate has been made specifically by EA to challenge Activision’s yearly revision of the peerless THPS franchise, and I would love it to kick Tony Hawk’s ass. But that means rooting for EA. Which sucks.

Halo 3

Duh. No I didnt pre-order the fancy helmet special edition.

It’ll be just like the last one and no-one will care because they’ll all be playing skate.

Half Life 2 The Orange Box

Could be the best value game ever published. Half Life 2, HL2: Episode 1, HL2: Episode 2, Portal and… drumroll… Team Fortress 2 (FINALLY).

This cant get here quick enough. Slash and Bret Micheals? WIN. Check the tracks.

Note to self: Should probably finish COD3.

The Simpsons
Rumor: This was delayed to add more Spiderpig.

Mass Effect

YES. YES. GET ONE. YES. Basically KOTOR 3 with an original IP on a Next Gen console. This might be the best game all year if it delivers is promise of Adventure game + FPS + RPG.
